Once just a brief stopover on the Kalka-Shimla highway, Barog town has grown to be destination in itself. Surrounded by pine trees and oak trees, Barog is located in an idyllic setting. The magnificent Choor Chandni or Choordhar peak, which poetically translates 'Mountain of the Silver Bangle', is clearly visible from Barog, and when the moonlight lavishly pours itself on the slopes of the peak, it appears as though countless shimmering, silver bangles are sliding down in the night. Location : Himachal Pradesh Tourist Attraction Barog Hill Station : Renuka Lake : The largest lake in the state of Himachal Pradesh that is said to embody Goddess Renuka, the mother of Parshurama. Rajgarh Lake: A pleasant area, dotted with several orchards and delightful picnic spots such as Habban and Nacchna. Choordhar Mountains : Trekking to Choordhar Mountains with all its pine trees is delightful and provides you with some excellent view. These mountains are 3,650 m high and its peak is known as Choor Chandni Peak because in a moonlit night, it seems as if several silver bangles are sliding down its slope. Suketi Fossil Park : Suketi Fossil Park was the first park in Asia that to be situated on the site where the actual fossils were unearthed. Situated at a distance of 21 km from Nahan, this park is sited on the bank of Markanda River.
