The Ranthambore National Park occupies a picturesque location at the meeting point of the Aravalli Hills and the Vindhyan Plateau in the eastern Rajasthan. Ranthambore was famous as the hunting ground of the former Maharajas of Jaipur. The Chambal River in the South and the Banas River in the North are the source of water in the Park. Take tours to Ranthambore to see the unparallel beauty of the park enhanced by the six man-made lakes and many perennial streams.

Ranthambore became a Game Sanctuary in 1955 and was among the first few reserved areas for wildlife in India. National Park Ranthambore has several distinct regions, with varying physical features and vegetation. Each region is home to different animals and wildlife.

Tourist Attraction Ranthambore National Park :
Anantpura and Lakarda : The Anantpura region located in the northern part of National Park Ranthambore and the Lakarda region, in the Northwestern part of National Park Ranthambore are known for their vegetation interspersed with many anthills. The anthills are a favorite food source of sloth bears.
Bakaula : Bakaula consists of dense forest, with many small pools and water holes in clearings in the vegetation. Because of the excellent forest cover and availability of water, the Bakaula region in National Park Ranthambore has an abundance of wildlife. Tigresses with young cubs are often seen near the water holes in Bakaula,
Kachida Valley : The Kachida Valley is a region in the National Park Ranthambore where most of the 40 odd leopards in the park can be found.
Malik Talao : There are three large lakes in Ranthambore National Park of which Malik Talao is the smallest. Malik Talao is known for its population of water birds and Marsh Crocodiles.
Padam Talao : The Padam Talao is the biggest lake in National Park Ranthambore. It is named Padam after the beautiful lotuses that bloom in the lake. The hunting lodge called Jogi Mahal is located near the bank of the Padam.Tourists can see deer including chinkara, drinking from the edge of the lake. Tigers are often seen near Padam Talao.
Ranthambore Fort : The Ranthambore Fort is an impressive historic monument situated in Ranthambore National Park.The excellence of the construction of the Ranthambore Fort can be seen in its enduring structures even today.

By Air
The closest airport is Jaipur, 180 kms away by road.
By Rail

The town has excellent rail connections with Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Nagpur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Agra, etc. The town lies on the main Delhi- Mumbai rail link and so there are many trains daily to Mumbai and Delhi.
By Road

Sawai Madhopur is the town closest to the Ranthambore National Park, and it has good road connections with Delhi (8 hours journey via Jaipur - Tonk - Uniara), Jaipur (3 hours via Tonk - Uniara), Agra (8 hours drive via Bharatpur - Dausa - Lalsot).
